Nassau County, FL – Micah’s Place is pleased to announce the recent addition of Marianna McIntyre, as Development Director. Among her new duties, McIntyre will assist with Special Events, Fundraising/Grant Writing and Volunteer Coordination.
Ms. McIntyre joins the nonprofit following a long term career as a Director of Sales, Marketing and Social Media at an area hotel. Her roots with Micah’s Place go back to the inception of the Domestic Violence Shelter, when she was the original Program Manager. She was initially hired to assist with fundraising and establishing the shelter, which has just celebrated its Ten Year Anniversary serving victims of domestic violence in Nassau County, Florida.
Shandra Riffey, Executive Director of Micah’s Place, stated she is happy with the appointment and believes McIntyre will be an asset to Micah’s Place and the skilled staff already in place there. “We are delighted to have Marianna with us. She is a good fit to an organization whose Board, Staff and Volunteers are all fully committed to ending domestic violence in Nassau County”.
Micah’s Place is a Certified Domestic Violence Center and the only one serving Nassau County, Florida. The mission is to provide prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence and to provide education within the community to affect change in behavior and attitudes relating to domestic violence. Micah’s Place offers safe, confidential shelter, advocacy, a 24-hour toll-free hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups to victims of domestic violence.
