Micah’s Place, the only nonprofit and Certified Domestic Violence Center in Nassau County, Florida, has announced the selection of Heather Woody Jones as its new Chief Executive Officer. She is replacing Executive Director Shandra Riffey, who departed in November.
Ms. Jones has served the organization for the last seven years in several ways, including Director of Finance and Interim Executive Director; she brings experience in non-profit management and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Her passion for her work is evident. She strongly believes that everyone has the right to a safe, healthy, happy home and is honored to be selected to lead Micah’s Place and continue to engage the community to end domestic violence.
Commenting on Ms. Jones’ selection, Board of Director President Robert Fisher said, “Micah’s Place is fortunate to have someone of Heather Jones’ energy, skill and dedication leading the organization. She has a deep sense of commitment and compassion to the participants we serve. The Board is excited to have someone of her caliber leading the outstanding staff at Micah’s Place.”
Micah’s Place is the only Certified Domestic Violence Center serving Nassau County, Florida. Our mission is to provide prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence; and to provide education within our community to effect change in behavior and attitudes relating to domestic violence. We offer safe, confidential shelter, advocacy, a 24-hour toll-free hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups to victims of domestic violence. All of our services are free and confidential.
