Micah’s Place will observe October 2011 Domestic Violence Awareness Month by placing their banner above 8th Street in Historic Downtown Fernandina on Tuesday, October 11 through Monday, October 17. Also the community is invited to participate in the following events. These events will help bring awareness about Micah’s Place services and educate our community regarding domestic violence prevention. Please show your support by wearing a purple ribbon or the color purple throughout the month of October.
- • Saturday, October 1 from 9:00 am to 1:00pm. Visit our booth at the Fernandina Farmer’s Market. Purple ribbons and Micah’s Place awareness materials will be available. Also, volunteers will be selling our famous, “A Savory Place Cookbook” at a pre-holiday price of just $20.
• Saturday, October 1 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Visit our booth at the Treasure Chest Shop in Callahan. Purple ribbons and Micah’s Place awareness materials will be available. Also, volunteers will be selling our famous, “A Savory Place Cookbook” at a pre-holiday price of just $20.
• Week of October 3 and October 10. Display of Micah’s Place ribbons and awareness materials at Prosperity Bank.
• Thursday, October 6 at Noon. Sponsoring the Greater Nassau Chamber of Commerce lunch meeting at the Pig Restaurant in Callahan.
Micah’s Place is a Certified Domestic Violence Center and the only one serving Nassau County, Florida.
