Amelia Island's first food truck rally and evening run also has live music, kid's zone, beer garden and more.

Micah's Place Taking Strides to End AbuseAmelia Island/Fernandina Beach, FL – On your mark! Get set! Go! Registration for the Taking Strides to End Abuse 5K/Fun Run and Food Truck Rally is happening March 1, 2014. This inaugural event is a family celebration beginning at Central Park and benefiting Micah’s Place.

This is a unique event, as it will be the island’s first food truck rally paired with an evening run. The event will also feature live music, kid’s zone, beer garden and much more.

A $5.00 minimum donation to Micah’s Place allows for entry to the food and fun area. Free entry to all 5K runners and kids 12 and under. Some food, beverage and specialty events will incur an additional fee. Race fee is $25.00 in advance, $30.00 through day of race.

Shandra Riffey, Executive Director of Micah’s Place, is excited about this new event, “The Board members, staff and volunteers are working hard to provide an event full of fun, food and festivities for the entire family! Whether you are a runner or not – we hope everyone will come out, have fun and support Micah’s Place.”

Food Trucks will be open to the public from 4 pm – 9 pm, the 5K race starts at 5:00 pm, and the 1 Mile Fun Run for kids 12 and under starts at 6:00 pm.
