Barbi Coyne is sworn in as a 2013 Board of Director by Sandy Malone, 2012 President

Fernandina Beach, FL – On Thursday, November 29, 2012, Micah’s Place Board of Director’s held their last meeting for 2012 at Four Season’s Bistro in Yulee and welcomed one new member, Barbi Coyne, owner of HR Business Connection, who will join the 2013 Board of Directors.

Also at the meeting, Sandy Malone conducted the swearing in of the new officers for 2013: Elaine Coats, President; Tip Fisher, 1st Vice President; Carol Higginbotham, 2nd Vice President; Don Hughes, Secretary; Barbi Coyne, Treasurer; Iris Jacobsen, Development Director; and Adrienne Burke, Member-at-Large.

Shandra Riffey, Executive Director of Micah’s Place, presented a recognition award to Sandy Malone for her exceptional service as Board President from January through December 2012. The Board of Directors and the Staff thanked Ms. Malone for her dedication to Micah’s Place and her commitment to ending domestic violence in Nassau County.

Micah’s Place Board of Directors would like to thank Four Seasons Bistro for opening up their restaurant and allowing us to hold our Noon meeting and for serving a delicious and memorable lunch.

Micah’s Place is a Certified Domestic Violence Center and the only one serving Nassau County, Florida. The mission is to provide prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence and to provide education within the community to affect change in behavior and attitudes relating to domestic violence. Micah’s Place offers safe, confidential shelter, advocacy, a 24-hour toll-free hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups to victims of domestic violence.
