Loving Chocolate Sandra Carroll, owner of the Fernandina Beach Peterbrooke Chocolatier has lived in Nassau County, Florida, since she was six years old. She married her high school sweetheart and they raised two children here. Her four grandchildren affectionately call her, “Lovey”. How appropriate a nick-name for the owner of a chocolate shop since chocolate contains phenylethylamine, the chemical produced in the brain when a person is in love! Chocolate is an instant stress reliever, comparable to a deep breath of fresh air! |

Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn Phyllis Lockwood Geiger, owner of the first Peterbrooke Chocolatier, accidentally created the company’s chocolate-covered popcorn in 1984. “All the San Marco merchants were giving away free samples at the annual Holiday Magic celebration, and I had a shop full of very expensive handmade items that I couldn’t afford to give away. I ran down to the theater, got some fresh popcorn and sprinkled chocolate on it so we’d have something to give, too. It’s turned into our most popular item,” laughs Geiger, “A true holiday blessing!” |

Chocolate Covered Strawberries One of Peterbrooke’s specialties is their fresh fruits – hand dipped into mouth watering dark, milk or white chocolate. Chocolate covered strawberries are one of their most popular items and need to be ordered in advance, especially near any of the holidays. Many of Peterbrooke’s products can be made sugar-free, call for details. |

Parties for all Occassions Become a chocolatier for the day with a Peterbrooke Birthday Party appropriate for chocolate lovers of all ages. Each guest will have their own station with all of the supplies needed to dip and decorate apples, pretzels or oreos. These parties are only $20.00 per person and are best with eight to ten guests. The party lasts about 1 1/2 hours and each guest will leave the store with a Peterbrooke bag packed with his or her goodies tied with a Peterbrooke balloon. New this year is this exciting addition – the guest of honor also receives a Peterbrooke apron. |
