With the 46th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival a week away, most people who attend this event think about Pirates. About 100 members of the Fernandina Pirates Club will fill the streets next weekend entertaining the kids, and adults too. It seems however, that other pirates may have heard about the Fernandina Pirates takeover of Amelia Island and may be headed close to our shores.

Rumor has it that the crew of The Black Raven, a replica pirate ship of a Spanish galleon, has sailed into the waters off of St. Augustine, Florida. Some of its crew may slip up to Amelia Island during the festival to hang out with the crowds and check out the Fernandina Pirate scoundrels, wenches and scallywags, so be on the lookout. The official Fernandina Pirates will be showing their colors with official patches that indicate their affiliation with the local club.

The Black Raven is actually a floating sightseeing and performance stage currently located in St. Augustine, Florida. “Well, scupper me hide and ram me into a mortar-piece! Ahoy crew of the Black Raven! Ya bilge swilling, keg-headed, sons of a hermit crab. Welcome! What say ye nothing? Then, by the powers the Devil take ye, though he himself desires better company!
