Rescuing Animals in Nassau County

RAIN Retail Store on Amelia Island

The R.A.I.N. (Rescuing Animals in Nassau County) Resale Store opened it’s donors in March of this year. It is located in the strip mall next to Harris Teeter supermarket.  All proceeds are used to provide care for the animals in residence at the organization’s shelter and to support the many outreach programs helping the animals of our community.
RAIN needs donations for resale!!  The store accepts anything of house wares, furniture, jewelry, books, sporting goods, tools, linens, rugs, pictures, books, etc.  The store DOES NOT HAVE SPACE for clothing items, shoes, children’s toys or children’s furniture and asks that all your donated items be clean, free of odor & stains and in good condition. Also welcome are arts & crafts, antiques and new items on consignment and have several artisans and quilters displaying their wares in the store. Upon sale, the split is an attractive 70% for the consignor and 30% for R.A.I.N.

R.A.I.N is also putting out a call for volunteers!! The store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.  The “all volunteer staff” works two hour shifts and store manager Larry Wood tries to always have at least two people there during business hours.  If you are interested, go by the RAIN store and sign up or e-mail Nancy Jordan, Volunteer Coordinator.

And of course the store also needs shoppers – so go and see what they have to offer – there’s definitely something for everyone – and the inventory changes every day!  You can also help by spreading the word about RAIN, the animals are counting on you!!

If you have any questions you may email or call (904-571-7630) Store Manager Larry Wood.
