Rotarian Theresa Shuster Shares The Gift of Rotary

Mark Dennis and Theresa Shuster

On Friday, May 9th, the Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise enlisted member Theresa Shuster to provide an update to the club on the Gift of Rotary, a review of the many activities Rotary clubs do in the local community, in northeast Florida, in the U.S., and internationally. Theresa recently joined the Amelia Island Sunrise Rotary Club upon moving to Fernandina Beach and joining Edward Jones Investments as the Branch Administrator in Yulee, however she has been an active Rotarian since 2000, including serving as past president of the Orange Park Sunrise Rotary club. Theresa shared examples of how local rotary clubs effect change in their communities and throughout the world.

The Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise has sponsored and participated in projects in Fernandina Beach such as feeding the homeless through the Interfaith Dinner Network, hosting a wine and cheese fundraiser to purchase defibrillators for Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital, and planting a garden at Hope House to produce fresh fruits and vegetables for the Hope House clients.

The members of the club have made a difference globally through outreach programs traveling to Haiti, India, and Nicaragua.

The Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise meets each Friday morning at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club to plan and review their service projects, enjoy club fellowship over breakfast, and host a speaker covering local, regional, and even international topics ranging anywhere from community service, business, politics, health, and fun! Pictured here is Theresa Shuster with club president Mark Dennis. All interested are welcome.

The Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise meets every Friday at 7:30 a.m. at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club. For more information about the club or to attend a morning breakfast meeting, please contact president, Mark Dennis, at mark@A1Awealthmanagement.com or go to www.ameliaislandrotary.com.
