Amelia Island, FL – A group from the Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise gathered at the Harbor Front to board the Amelia Island Trolley to spread some Holiday Cheers throughout town.
The plastic curtains were opened so everyone could hear the group. Even though they may have been a bit off key at times they passed many smiling faces on Centre Street. The carolers were especially delighted to be able to bring some additional cheers from the trolley to the kids and grownups at the “Shop with Cops” event in front of Wal-Mart.
Then on to the first stop at Savannah Grand where they performed and encouraged everyone to join in singing holiday songs. The next stop was the dining room at Osprey Village. Here the carolers surprised the dinner guests with their cheers. Christal Fish, the president elect of the Club, organized the event and passed out song books to everyone. Dave Dully was in charge of the technical production.
The carolers left many smiling and happy faces which made this worthwhile. Everyone had so much fun that they are already talking about repeating this event next year.
The Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise meets every Friday from 7:30 am to 8:30 am at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club. Everyone is invited. For more information, contact President Katey Breen by visiting the club’s website: www.AmeliaIslandRotary.com.
