Fernandina Beach, FL – Anyone who has experienced or watched someone experience the “joys of new motherhood” should make plans now to attend Save Me Dolly Parton at the Amelia Musical Playhouse. The author, Megan Gogerty, who has made a career of stand-up comedy shares her experiences in this one woman show.
The new Mom, Megan, is played by Rachel Tyler who has a long history in our local theatres. Rachel has costumed several shows at AMP including most recently Spamalot and she has directed shows including Bad Panda and The Producers. Maybe you’ve seen her on stage in shows like A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Vagina Monologues.
Now we are fortunate enough to see Rachel in her delivery of Megan’s new baby experience with all the love, surprises, self doubt and frustrations. She comes from a long line of very strong women and compares herself to all of them. She idolizes Dolly Parton and looks to her for inspiration. She looks to find herself again in the midst of sleep deprivation, juggling a career and a baby, What should she do? Where should she go? Come see the solution.
