On the second Saturday of every month, Amelia Island offers a fun art crawl called the Artrageous Artwalk. These are free to the public and include 12 of Amelia Island’s incredible art galleries that showcase local artists and their wide array of fine art, including photography, pottery, copper, metal, stained glass, watercolors, oils, acrylics and mixed media. Visitors have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists behind the work. There is one on August 8, from 5:30 ‚Äì 8:30 PM.
This month, try starting at the Blue Door Artists. They are located at 205 1/2 Centre Street between “Amelia Island Coffee/Seattle’s Best Coffee Shop”, and “Go Fish.” and are featuring island inspired watercolors by Sharon Badenoch. Also see what the other Blue Door Artists have been up to as you enjoy touring their studios. If you are unable to make it for the reception, they are open Monday thru Saturday 11AM – 5PM. Sundays and after-hours by appointment 904-556-1119. Art walk brochures with maps are available along the walk.
Amelia Island Art Association will also be having it’s Nouveau Art show opening in the South Hall. This exhibit showcases artists from around the island and this openings theme is Vibrant Colors, so it is surely going to be worth a visit!
