Several Plant Species are Available at the Farmers MarketIf you are hoping to spruce up your yard before the end of summer, you don’t want to miss the farmers market on July 30, 2016, where you will find amazing baskets, blooming plants, patio specialties, landscaping shrubs and palm trees in downtown Fernandina Beach.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market has expanded its selection of plants with the addition of Brian and his company, Lone Wolf Growers. His selection of large palms, trees, bushes, and shrubs compliment the tremendous variety of plants already available at the Market Place from weekly vendors Seven Blooms Nursery, Jaxma Orchids and Everblooming Gardens.

Lone Wolf Growers’ expertise is in palm tree placement and installation. Brian brings Sylvester date palms, washingtonia, silver Bismarck, robellini, queen palms and more. He also carries a few viburnum shrubs and podocarpus trees. To request a specific species, please call Brian at (407) 760-2591.

Ina and “The Dutchman” of Seven Trees Nursery bring a variety of herbs and hanging baskets, and porch and patio plants including mini variegated schefflera, ferns, cactus, portulaca plants, and ornamental pepper plants such as the Caribbean Black Pearl.

Robert, of Everblooming Gardens, is a walking encyclopedia of horticulture information and puts on display an amazing array of blooming and non-blooming landscaping plants and shrubs including unusual hibiscus and hearty rose bushes. His knowledge of plants and their salt and shade tolerances is priceless when it comes to selecting something special to plant outdoors. He also carries tropicals, philodendrons, and other house plants that thrive here in Northeast Florida.

Shawn, with Jaxma Orchids can answer all of your questions regarding orchids. Varieties on hand may include lady Slippers, hanging vandas, dendrobium, as well as some oncidium.

In addition to these wonderful exhibitors, you will still find your favorite food booths as well as some you haven’t seen in a few weeks such as Rose and her Un-believable Egg Rolls, Peirogi Hut, and Amelia Pasta.

Music will be provided by the talented Jen Burns, and market sponsor All American Gutter will be on hand to answer your roof drainage questions.

The farmers market is located on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre Streets, and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. For more information, please find us on facebook.
