Shrimp Monument in Fernandina Beach
Presentation of Colors with members of the Fernandina Beach Highs School ROTC kicked things off, then Julia Nichole Savage delivered a beautiful version of the National Anthem. Reverand Jeff Overton of First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach delivered the invocation, members of the Shrimp Festival Committee were introduced and honor was paid to our community’s shrimping industry with the laying of a ceremonious wreath at the Shrimp Monument.
At the completion of Opening Ceremonies the crowds found shrimp, Pirates, a scholarship pageant, live music and so much more at this annual festival Always held the First Weekend of May on Amelia Island, Florida.
