After a particularly cold winter, nature has brought spring to Amelia Island.
“How do you know?” said the old oak tree.
“I just saw a daffodil blooming on a windy hill!”
We all know that spring inevitably follows winter, but it doesn’t always make an appearance in February. After a particularly cold winter, nature has brought spring to our island. The grass is getting greener, the flowers are blooming, and the weather is perfect.
The plants are sprouting, the birds are singing, and the pollen is turning our cars yellow. People are welcoming spring by venturing outside, taking walks on the beach, and getting on their motorcycles. The days are starting to get a little longer too. I noticed last week that it was much lighter when I arrived at work.
Although the spring equinox does not mark the beginning of spring for almost another month on March 20, 2011, we will happily enjoy the wonderful blue skies and perfect temperatures now. Spring has sprung!
