December 15, 2012 will be another exciting day at the farmer’s market in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach! Steephill Maple Syrup is bringing syrup from their small, family owned, Vermont maple tree farm to Fernandina Beach again this year. Their 100% natural syrup makes a fabulous holiday gift and this will be their last appearance at the Market Place before Christmas.
Olive My Pickle returns this week with a wide variety of stuffed olives including garlic, lemon, hot pepper, sweet red pepper, and my personal favorite, their Bleu Cheese stuffed olives. These are hand-stuffed with Danish bleu cheese, marinated in oil to best preserve the cheese, and they add peppercorn to nuance the flavor. They will also be offering their pitted, and no pit olives, a nice selection of pickes, fresh and tasty hummus and their popular Vegan deli items, the vegan stuffed grape leaves and baba ganoush.
Meet the Bee Keeper! Nancy Gentry of Cross Creek Honey will be bringing a virtual hive to educate those more interested in the production of natural honey; the ways bees intended.
Music will be provided by Cody Norton and Brandon Delp of The James Cody Band, and Micah’s Place will be on hand to answer your questions about Nassau County’s Domestic Abuse Shelter.
Our farmers welcome you to ask questions and they are happy to take your special orders for delivery at the market the following week.
We hope you will join us this, and every week, at the Fernandina Beach Market Place located on N. 7th Street, between Centre and Alachua streets, in historic Fernandina Beach. This friendly farmer’s market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
