t-rays-amelia-islandA recent edition in the Travel Section of the USA Today had an article titled, “Great American Bites, 51 Great Burger Joints”. This may come as no surprise to locals in our community, but T-Ray’s in Fernandina Beach made the list!

Patricia Letakis, executive editor of Florida Travel + Life magazine, recommended T-Ray’s on Amelia Island as the best burger in Florida. USA Today said, “Father-and-son team Big Ray and T-Ray Mullis run the busiest Exxon gasoline station on Amelia Island. However, its abandoned rusting gas pumps belie what’s inside. Open the door and the smell of burgers sizzling on the grill welcomes you to T-Ray’s Burger Station. The place is famous for its $3.25 handmade burgers.”

If you haven’t been, look for the old gas station on the right side of the road as you head toward historic Fernandina Beach on 8th Street. The address is 202 S. 8th Street, or to find out their hours of operation give them a call at 904-261-6310.
