The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at Studio 209The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is coming to Studio 209. The performance is by ACTeen Troupe.

This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.

The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

Performances are:
March 20 – 7:30pm
March 21 – 7:30pm
March 22 – 2:00pm

All Tickets are $10.00 with open seating.

Cinderella, and a Prince and Princess Party

Cinderella, and a Prince and Princess PartyTickets are selling out fast for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA, a musical production of the teen acting troupe, ACTeen, being performed at the Amelia Community Theatre’s Studio 209.

Show tickets are $10.00. Prince and Princess Party tickets are only $5.00 (there is no charge for the accompaning adult) and guests are encouraged to dress up in their royal attire and enjoy refreshments, games, activities, and carriage rides.

The Prince and Princess Party, suitable for ages 5-10, is from 12:30 – 1:30 PM in the main stage lobby.

You may want to call the box office at 261-6749, or visit www.ameliacommunitytheatre.org for show and party tickets before they are all sold out. The last information we received indicated tickets were available for the 7:30 PM shows on January 31; and February 1st and 2nd.

Cinderella, the musical, is great family entertainment for adults and children, ages 5 and older. This is the ultimate makeover story, packed with romance and wonderful music.

Performances take place on ACT’s studio stage at 209 Cedar Street at 7:30 p.m. on January 31 and February 1–2 and at 2 p.m. on February 2–3.

Acting Lessons by Sinda Nichols on Amelia Island12 Things Every Actor Wants to Know and Enjoy Doing: Understanding, Exploring and Using the 12 Guideposts

This is an 8 week series, taught by Sinda Nichols, on Tuesdays from February 5 through March 26, 2-4 PM, at Studio 209, inside Amelia Community Theatre located at 209 Cedar Street.

The cost is $70.00 for the series, $30.00 to audit and the class will be limited to 10 people in each category.

Students will work with improvisation games, short scenes, poetry, monologues, and student selections. Week 8 will be a showcase performance for family and friends.

Lobby Acting 101 at Amelia Community Theatre

Lobby Acting 101The Mouth of Amelia is inviting you to Lobby Acting 101, A Celebration of the 100th Birthday of Tennessee Williams, presented by Amelia Community Theatre.

You are welcome to come and participate or observe!

WHEN: Friday, March 25th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

WHERE: Amelia Community Theatre’s Mainstage Lobby, in Fernandina Beach!

WHAT: An evening of readings, poems and contests in celebration of the life of the famous playwright, Tennessee Williams. Members of the casts of your favorite plays will be on hand as well as behind the scenes people you might not know! This will be a great way to mingle with friends who love the theatre and maybe participate a bit in one of the activities. Observers are most welcome too!
