Writers by the Sea has announced their September program. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm, on September 17, 2015 at the Nassau Public Library located at 25 N. 4th Street, in Fernandina Beach.
A 6:30 presentation, Imagination, Perspective, and Creative Writing Techniques, will be followed by break out groups.
The guest speaker is Jim Weinsier. He is a retired businessman-turned local community activist, artist, and author, and this evening promises a bit of something for everyone.
Using creative writing techniques that are designed to enhance writing, he will discuss how to apply them to the toughest topics. Weinseir’s presentation encourages audience members to join in the discussion.
At Writers by the Sea, attendance is free to all writers, from all backgrounds (adult and young adult), with an invitation to join the larger Florida Writers Association (FWA). During September, Writers by the Sea will meet at Nassau County’s Public Library.
Fernandina Beach, FL – The newly formed Writers By The Sea (WBTS), announces its first featured program of the new year, Critique Groups that Work.
The secrets to a good writers’ critique group are in the rules set by members, the chemistry and goals of the participants, and especially in their commitment to one purpose: To help writers succeed.
Join Writers by the Sea, as Planning Committee Co-chair Nancy Blanton leads the monthly meeting’s discussion.
Attendees will get to decide how a critique group could serve them best, and whether they would like to help create a group they could love.
The meeting is set for Thursday, January 15 at 6:30 pm, upstairs at Cafe Karibo, 27 North 3rd Street, Fernandina Beach, FL.
Registration begins at 6 p.m. with networking and the opportunity to buy food and beverages in the restaurant to take into the meeting, if desired.
WBTS meets monthly on the third Thursday of each month. All local and visiting writers are welcome and attendance is free. No advanced registration is necessary.
Bring a friend and join with like-minded people in fun, fellowship and support toward achieving your writing and publishing goals.
