Turned and taught by her father, each piece is made on an antique lathe and turned into an exquisite piece of art.
You are invited to come meet the artist and learn what motivates them to design such fabulous finds. At Red Wolf Custom Crafts, you will find custom built furniture made in Blackshear, Georgia, by Ben Smith, III. Ben has worked in residential and commercial construction from the time he was 18 years old, building cabinets and some clumsy, commercial grade furniture until 1980. That year he felt a spiritual change and began creating original pieces with solid designs. Now in his mid 60s, he simply wants to be of service to his fellow man and gave up on “becoming rich” when he realized how rich he already was!
Ben will also be bringing fat lighter pine kindling in small packages wrapped with red ribbon for folks with fire places or who just like the smell. Also there is a new line of sculptures made of river bottom wood and deer antlers.
Another wood crafter is Kangee Graham, of Wooden Water. As a landscape designer she finds interesting burls and pieces of wood, from dying or downed trees and makes unique bowls. Turned and taught by her father, each piece is made on an antique lathe and turned into an exquisite piece of art. (No trees are harmed in the making of these bowls.) This artist has also added a collection of tabletop candle holders she designs from oyster shells collected from the beautiful beaches of Amelia Island. She designs the candle holders using tans, whites, grays and a variety of black shells. All of her beautiful pieces are personally signed, and custom orders are welcomed.
Meet these two, and about 30 other artists, at this fine arts market located adjacent to the farmers’ market located on North Seventh Street between Alachua and Centre Streets.
