The AT&T Greater Kingfish Tournament

Up to 1000 Boats Enter the Tournament The Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament began in 1981. This non-profit organization uses their proceeds to support marine science research, preservation, and education. The 28th tournament, sponsored by AT&T will be held July 22-26, 2008 at Sisters Creek Park. Up to 1,000 boat captains will have their crews ready to hit the water by the 6:30 AM check-out on Friday, July 25th for the first of two days of some hard-core fishing.
Don’t worry if you are not fishing, there are plenty of other things to do. Bring the youngsters out to enjoy the KidZone while you browse the food booths, boat show and other exhibits. The event ends on Saturday night with performances by The Swinging Medallions, an awards ceremony, a spectacular fireworks show and the band returns to play until 1:00 AM.
Sisters Creek Park is located on Heckscher Drive about 7 miles east of 9A. The park is on the left and clearly marked. If you are driving from Amelia Island the park is below the Ferry. The event is free and handicapped parking is available on site, however the Jacksonville Marine Charities charge a $5.00 donation to park with shuttle service provided to the event.
