Third Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-Off is returning to Main Beach on Amelia Island Friday, August 24 to Saturday, August 25, 2012 and is featuring the Little River Band, Saturday at 7:00 PM.
North Fletcher Avenue and Wolf Park in Fernandina Beach will be home to this exciting event for all ages with free admission.
Hosted by the Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, you are invited to Kick off the football season with a barbeque competition at the beach!
Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, professional barbeque competition teams will compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Bring your family, friends, and your appetite to Main Beach Park and enjoy live music by local and regional bands while experiencing the thrill of the competition.
Cheer on your favorite backyard team as they battle against other local teams in their own barbeque competition. Get ready for football season and learn a few new barbeque tricks to show off at your own football tailgate parties! After all, nothing goes better with barbeque than football.
Purchase a wristband on Saturday and sample barbeque from participating teams and vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice contest.
Admission is free. Food and beverage available for purchase inside the gates. Outside food and beverage not permitted. No pets, please.
