Townies Pizzeria and Deli is as much about lifestyle as it is creating fabulous recipes for their pizzas, subs, wings and dogs. Located in the old Papa John’s location across 8th Street from Winn Dixie in Fernandina Beach, these guys deliver. No literally, they deliver until the wee hours of the morning when they quit serving and often you will see them delivering their great food on a bicycle or even a skateboard. But, don’t just leave it for delivery! All of their walls are painted by artist Dave Nackashi, and he has a few pieces of original works for sale.

Robert Misso and John Seifert have been making pizza pies together for ten years and along with Dave, they are giving Amelia Island a fresh new twist on pizzeria foods. Another member of the team is Zack who takes a lot of ribbing from his peers about his modeling career which led to the nickname and tag line: Zack the Fury – his pizza is hot! Other items on the menu include PB and J pizza, wings, and The Chiz, a sloppy Joe. Many of their specialities are named after their friends. They are always creating new stuff to try so be sure to ask about their underground pizzas such as the Dirty Dina!

Bring your family along to order take-out. While you wait for your food that is made with fresh ingredients found at our local Farmer’s Market your invited to play Polish Horseshoes, Connect Four, Badminton, Jenga or other games. Family oriented, they even offer complementary Kool-aid and freezer pops for the kids! They even offer 52 cent pizzas to “Truckers” and there may be ample room to park a semi there, but none have stopped in to take advantage of that bargain yet!

Townies is community minded and help to support local surfers with the Eastern Surfing Association. They offer special pricing to local schools and discounts those who work in the service industry with their paycheck stub. They even have a special dog friendly pizza… and on Friday and Saturday nights you’ll find them serving hungry fans of Cotton Eye Joe’s from midnight until about 2:00 AM in the morning.
