One of the most popular Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival events is the Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant.
In 2014, 17 young women from Nassau County, Florida, entered the annual pageant sponsored by the Hampton Inn & Suites, Amelia Island “Historic Harbor Front Hotel”.
After weekend rehearsals led by Pageant Chair Crystal Molchin and Choreographer Kristin Conner, the girls attended a dinner party where they were interviewed by the pageant judges.
Russell Colburn of Action News was the emcee for the pageant and judges include Bob Ramshaw of the Hampton Inn and Suites; Shannon Brown, vice president of the Fernandina Beach Vystar Credit Union; and Nancy Burnett, a former contestant in the Ms. Senior Jacksonville Pageant.
