Year of the Golden Shrimp
The following announcement is mostly for our non-resident subscribers and viewers, and our local population who apparently live under a rock and have no clue what is going on for this year’s Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival:
This year is the 50th Anniversary of the festival and it will be held on May 3rd, 4th and 5th, with a few extra days of celebration thrown in for good measure.
Presented by Publix Supermarkets and held in the heart of historic downtown Fernandina Beach, on beautiful Amelia Island, Florida, this “party” has been going on since 1964!
Enjoy FREE admission to this the family friendly event offering:
-Delicious shrimp prepared every way imaginable by food booths staffed and run exclusively by local Nassau County non-profit groups as fund-raisers.
Wear your walking shoes to comfortably view and visit over 400 exhibitors featuring Fine Artisan & Crafters and Antique Dealers.
Bring the entire family and check out the Kids Fun Zone activities, Live Music on 2 Stages, and lots and lots of Pirates!
The popular Pirate Parade will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM, along Centre Street.
Thursday, May 2nd will offer a FREE concert at the waterfront featuring the Parket Urban Band and Swamp Cabbage, sponsored by a favorite, locals’ hang out, The Dog Star Tavern, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, in the parking lot at the foot of Centre Street.
