11th Annual Family Literacy Fair at FSCJIt is time for the Eleventh Annual Family Literacy Fair, Septmeber 21, 2013 at Florida State College’s North Campus.

Encouraging the love and joy of reading; emphasizing the importance of a college education

The North Campus and Nassau Center of Florida State College at Jacksonville is presenting its Eleventh Annual Family Literacy Fair for residents of Duval and Nassau Counties on September 21, 2013, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This year’s Literacy Fair includes opportunities for health screenings.

The Literacy Fair and “Health Extravaganza and Mighty Teeth Day” take place at the North Campus, 4501 Capper Road in Jacksonville (I-95 to Dunn Ave. or I-295 to Dunn Ave.).

It is free and open to the public.

The annual event is a celebration of the joys and benefits of reading, especially reading as a family activity. Those attending will enjoy free books (for all ages), door prizes, a light lunch, and a wide variety of fun, free and helpful activities designed to foster good reading habits.

In addition to reading activities, there will be golf lessons, health and dental screenings for children and adults, a healthy cook demonstration, and a Zumba class. Demonstrations of STARLAB, a portable inflatable planetarium manufactured by Science First in Yulee, will be held 10a.m. until 1p.m.
