With one cleanup in the morning and the other in the afternoon, why not do both?
Saturday, September 15, 2012 will hold two beach cleanups on Amelia Island.
One option is to meet at the Sadler Road beach access at 8:00am. Hosted by Sustainable Fernandina, Halls Beach Store, Pipeline Surf Shop and TJ’s Tattoos, this group of sponsors knows how to have a good time. Bags, gloves and refreshments provided.
A second option is being hosted by The Wild Amelia Nature Festival, in partnership with Fort Clinch State Park and Keep Nassau Beautiful. This one begins at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Clinch, in the Fort Clinch parking lot. Volunteers are needed to help, and the public is welcome. All park fees will be waived for participants, and bags, gloves, and water will be provided. The cleanup will be limited to the area around the Fort and a quarter mile towards the pier.
