If you love books and bargains, thousands of books will be sold at bargain basement prices November 1 - 3, on Amelia Island.
Fernandina Beach, FL – One of the most eagerly anticipated weekends for book lovers of all ages is coming up this weekend and the Friends of the Library volunteers have been accepting book donations for weeks to make it the biggest, most successful sale ever.
If you love books and bargains this is THE place to be. Thousands of books donated by local readers will be sold at bargain basement prices November 1 – 3, at the Peck Center Gym, 516 S. 10th Street on Amelia Island, to support library operations and programming.
Most are priced just $.50 to $3.00.
If you have donations DO NOT WAIT any longer because dontions need to be sorted, alphabetized and showcased for the sale!
The sale will feature a broad assorment of thousands of books – fiction and non-fiction books in dozens of categories as well as hundreds of CDs and DVDs. Children’s books are always very popular and will be greatly appreciated.
If you have just a few items to donate, leave them in the teal colored collection box under the covered walkway in front of Peck Head Start at 511 S. 11th St. A collection area for larger donations is in the Peck School 516 South 10th Street. Go in the front entrance (Fir Street between S. 10th and S. 11th Streets), turn right and look for the Friends of the Library sign on your left, next to the stairwell.
With most items are priced at $2.00 or less, past sales have generated approximately $15,000 annually in support of our Library. For first choice among the thousands of volumes, plan to attend the Friends of the Library Members Only preview sale on Thursday, November 1 from 5 – 7pm. If you aren’t a member, you can join at the door. Dues are $15 for students; $35 for single membership, $50 for a couple or $75 for a family.
The sale is open to the public on Friday, 9:30 a.m.– 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m. with fire-sale markdowns early Saturday afternoon. Proceeds benefit the Fernandina Beach Library so you’ll be getting great deals and supporting your library.
Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation consisting of local citizens whose mission is to promote literacy and life-long learning and to advocate and raise funds for the library for the benefit of the community.
