This display is a grand assortment of handmade works of art by local artist Billie McCray. Billie has exhibited her wall hangings and quilts in galleries and shows all over Jacksonville and Amelia Island. She is well known for her whimsical birds “with attitude” made from vintage fabrics she finds in thrift stores and dumpsters. Currently, her passion has been making “tattoo” dolls and “handkerchief” dolls as well as “dish detergent bottle” dolls. You have to see these ladies to believe them! Sometimes she has been known to channel the dolls and have conversations with them! Maybe you will be lucky enough to listen in on one of these chats!!!
Drop by on Friday for the best selection or on the weekend on your way to the Shrimp Festival! Billie’s work sells fast so come early!
