American Beach Day 2013

American Beach Day includes reading of the proclamation, singing, light refreshments, and reminiscing about historical events.

American Beach Day 2013American Beach Day is this Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Noon at the American Beach Community Center.

The event will include reading of the proclamation, singing, light refreshments, and reminiscing about historical events that affect American Beach.

Some of Billie McCray’s festive fiber art works will be hung on clotheslines for the public to enjoy. Some old quilts that she has collected and some of her newer work. (Nothing is for sale this time! Sorry!)

Preparations are under way for the opening of the American Beach Museum, sometime in February! This will house special artifacts of MaVynne, the Beach Lady, and a beautiful wall hanging by Billie McCray in her honor using buttons and ornaments from MaVynne’s hair.

Stay tuned for this Grand Opening!

The celebration on Thursday is open to the public at no charge.

We would love to see the museum on our visit in March 2013-I sure the city or whoever is responsible has cleaned up the public washroom there-just so bad, rust everywhere and so unclean!!!
