Santa Claus visited the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Nassau County and brought gifts to the highly excited crowd.
Amelia Island, FL – The boys and the girls long looked forward to this exciting yearly event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise. Over 65 kids attended the party at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The party started promptly for the first batch of kids at 4pm. Kids were treated to fried chicken, sandwiches, fruits, vegetable and for desert homemade custard with all the trimmings served by Art Shuster from Shakes Frozen Custards (www.shakes4me.com). Finally after the second group of kids arrived the big man showed up. Santa Claus made his round through the room greeting kids and finally settled on his chair next to the gifts under the tree. Rotary Sunrise Volunteers, Julie McCracken and Ann Hays, who also co-chaired the event, made sure to help Santa Claus to present the gifts to the kids.
Faces were painted by Frances and Katey Breen, president of the Rotary Club Sunrise. Sharon Stanley donated beads and helped make jewelry. The kids received the gifts that were on their wish list. Everyone, volunteers and kids had the time of their life.
