Amelia Island, FL – Do you know a business or organization that has gone that extra mile to meet your needs or an employee who always offers service with a smile?

Now it is easy to get their hard work recognized!

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its awards saluting achievement by the local business community in 2013.

For the first time, annual AIFBY Award nominations will be submitted online, eliminating the lengthy print nomination form used in previous years.

Nominees will be evaluated on how they fulfilled the Chamber’s mission to promote responsible economic growth, employment opportunities, government and excellence in education and quality of life.

Nominations are sought from the public in the following categories:
-Business of the Year (eligible nominees will be sorted into large, medium and small categories)
-Green Business of the Year
-Customer Service Employee of the Year
-Young Business Leader of the Year
-Business Leader of the Year

All nominees must be members of the AIFBY Chamber of Commerce.

Deadline to submit a nomination online at is Friday, December 6.

Winners will be chosen from among the qualified nominees by the Chamber’s Board of Directors and announced during the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, January 10, at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. Sponsors include The Brumos Companies and VyStar Credit Union.

Several other 2013 awards also will be presented January 10:
-the Chairman’s Award, given to a Chamber Board of Directors member for outstanding service on behalf of the Chamber
-the Dr. Harry Halley Bowtie Award, bestowed annually on a longtime Chamber supporter
-the Ambassador of the Year Award, honoring a member of the Chamber’s corps of volunteer Ambassadors

Admission to the Annual Awards Dinner is $55 per person for Chamber members through January 3; $75 afterwards. Members may purchase tables of 8 for $435 through January 3; $600 afterwards. Admission for non-members is $100 per person. Cash bar.
