Dave Turner Plumbing Reports Local ScamSearchAmelia received an email from Judi Turner, of Dave Turner Plumbing, warning us and YOU of a new, local scam that hit them too close to home!

According to Mrs. Turner a young man went to both Joes Produce and Crumps Barbershop and represented himself as “Donnie”, an employee of Dave Turner Plumbing.

Donnie told the businesses that they would receive a package for Dave Turner Plumbing, because the office would be closed, and to accept the package and go ahead and pay the fee. As rentors of the Turner’s, both businesses easily complied with the man’s request.

Each business is out $100.00 and they thought “Donnie” was one of the Turner family. They were definitly scammed!

The Turners have reported the incidents to the Nassau County Sheriff’s office and returned the money to both of the scammed businesses.

Please be warned and share this information with other individuals and businesses!

Editor’s Note: I heard a very similar incident happened on Amelia Island late last week at a business near Sadler Road and 8th Street, however that employee does not want to become involved.

Please don’t be shy to share information if you have been scammed… I just received yet another story about another victim. Call the police, city or county and make a formal report so these souls can be caught! It may not seem like much, $100.00 here, $85 there or $65.00 somewhere else. These thieves are taking advantage of your good nature… of our good natured community! It will not stop unless we all say, “Not in my hometown! Enough is enough!”
