They have clinics in Fernandina Beach, Yulee and Callahan. Services provided include clinical and nutrition services, wellness programs, environmental health, emergency preparedness and infectious disease services.
Interesting information was presented on the Zika virus, which the first case was recently reported in Nassau County. They pointed out that only about 20% of those infected even show symptoms, but they discussed the potentially serious issues with newborn infants.
Rotary is an international service organization started in Chicago in 1905. In addition to The Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise, which meets on Fridays at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club at 7:30, there is also the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club that meets on Wednesdays at 12:00 at the Florida House Inn.
