Fernandina Beach's downtown farmers market, The Fernandina Beach Market Place, will be open rain or shine.

Fernandina Beach’s downtown farmers market, The Fernandina Beach Market Place, will be open rain or shine. Located on North Seventh Street Saturday, the hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. While the forecast looks like rain, you can still enjoy walking outdoors and shopping the variety of food and natural products that line the street like seasonal produce, fresh baked breads, , hand-crafted body products, local honey, wild caught shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, sauces, cakes, cookies, desserts, and so much more.

The weather can be unpredictable so coming to the market on a rainy day is a day of surprises! Will you find better deals? Possibly. Will your favorite vendor be there? Usually. The vendors of the Market Place pay their rent ahead of time, so most of them will show up no matter what the weather is going to be. Customers will grab an umbrella and come get their weekly staples regardless of the weather. If you’ve not come to the farmers market on a rainy day, try it. It is less crowded, too.

Music will be provided by Guitarist Chris Loomis, if it is not raining, who donates all of his tips to the non-profit organization, America’s Youth. Members of the American Legion Post 54 will be joining us with the One Blood Bus. Stop by and learn the eight different blood types and how each one holds a unique power to save lives. Time slots are filling up fast, so please visit OneBlood.org to make an appointment to donate blood during the farmers market.
