Welcome to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market; this place is rolling in dough! Open every Saturday of the year, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we have over 40 tents of foods and natural bath and body care products. You will find amazingly fresh baked breads made without preservatives. Check out Great Harvest Bakery. The have a delicious Challah, which is egg bread. They bring an Asiago pesto, spinach feta, a Dakota bread, honey wheat, and cheddar garlic loaves – and that is just their breads. They also have muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls.

Rudy’s Ferra Bakery brings their breads so fresh, some of them are still warm when they arrive at the Market Place. Their Focaccia is a bread similar to pizza crust, but is topped with a variety of cheeses and vegetables. It can be served with a meal, used for a sandwich, and is hearty enough for a snack. Check out their cookies, brownies, and baklava. They have fruit filled pastries and their guava often sells out early. Their tube-shaped dough stuffed with a sweet creamy filling is called cannoli, and their Greek spinach pie is a flaky phyllo dough stuffed with spinach and feta cheese, called spanakopita.

For a special treat, stop by the new Backyard Buffalo booth. Here you will find cow and buffalo milk yogurts, savory spreads, and granola.

But wait, this is the second Saturday of the month, so you won’t only find fantastic, healthy and clean foods in historic Fernandina’s outside market, the Art Market is open on January 11th, too. Among our 20 booths of handmade arts and crafts, we have two featured artists this week: Color Peace Tie Dye, and one of our newer vendors, Unity Leather.

Born from a love of fabrics and color, Valerie found a new twist on traditional tie-dye. Using a new technique known as ICE-DYE, she lets unique fabric folding patterns, powdered dye, ice and gravity create the luxury apparel and textiles that are now known as Color Peace.

Also at the market this week is Unity Leather. Crafted with passion to last a lifetime, and using the best leather that is tanned in America, these are hand-crafted, heirloom quality handbags, wallets, bill folds, and accessories.

Both markets are open, rain or shine, and your well-behaved pets are welcome to join you. Look for the tents in historic Fernandina Beach, on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre. The Arts Market is open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.
