Ava and Nokoa, of Nassau County's Cabbage Creek Farms, have welcomed a healthy baby girl to their family.
The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 18th, rain or shine. Located on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre Streets, in the historic district, the Market Place will have over 30 booths full of delicious home-made delights like seasonal produce, fresh baked breads and pastries, plants, honey, pet treats, barrels of olives, pickles, salsas, hummus, grass fed beef, and more.
Ava and Nokoa, of Nassau County’s Cabbage Creek Farms, have welcomed a healthy baby girl to their family. Born on Father’s Day, their little bundle of joy, named Mara Fern, will undoubtedly become a true “Daddy’s Girl”! Be sure to stop by their booth and check out the fresh cut summer flowers, squash, and watermelons. Looking for a real treat? Ask for a “yellow” watermelon.
Shepperd’s Farms, a pepper farm located in Callahan, Florida, is bringing their tasty pepper jellies and they have added thumbprint cookies to their line-up. These tasty little delights have just a hint of habanero or jalapeno pepper mixed with the sweetness of blueberries or peaches. Do you want to surprise your friends? This is not a taste you expect from a cookie.
White Hawk Farms will be back this week and they have expanded their products to include herbal goat soaps, goat whey, buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, semi soft cheeses like ricotta, mozerella, and fomage blanc, and cajeta – a creamy caramel. And of course, they still have their yard eggs.
Bring a blanket and enjoy the music of Bruce Beville and the Laid Back Band under the shade trees of the magnificent, Spanish moss draped oak trees that surround the Market Place. The farmers market is a great place to stretch your legs on a Saturday morning, and your well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join you.
Island Charters Unlimited is our Fernandina Beach Brick and Mortar Business of the Week, and they will have one of their boats at the Market Place. Captain Erik Anderson and his team offer jetty fishing, nearshore, offshore, sandbar cruises, eco tours, scuba trips and more from either of their two boats, the Sashimi and the Ceviche, both located at the Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina.
