Island Council – Mustard Seed Café

Free for Chamber members; $25 for non-members. Optional breakfast is available. Online registration is required.

Human Resources Council
Noon Monday, February 10

AIFBY Chamber of Commerce, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, Amelia Island

Learn the hot topics and trends in background screening at the first Human Resources Council meeting of 2014.

Speaker in February is Donald J. Dymer, president and CEO of SingleSource Services based in Jacksonville Beach. A former Scotland Yard inspector, Dymer, believing that backgrounds are like fingerprints, founded SingleSource Services as a background screening and security firm serving organizations of every type and size. Today, SingleSource provides human resource management tools to encompass any outsourcing need for any organization.

Admission is $15 for members, $25 for non-members through Friday, February 7, $5 additional afterwards, and includes box lunch from Great Harvest Bread Co. Seating is limited. Registration and secure online payment required. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance or all charges will apply.

Yulee Area Council – Whataburger

As a productivity expert, Pankiewicz uses her years of experience from working hands-on with hundreds of clients in their businesses and residences to teaching the CFO (Clear, Fast Organizing) system for her clients to become Clutter-free & Organized, leaving them with more time, more space and less stress.

Joining the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in November 2011, McManemon is an experienced leader who has lead top-rated hotels and resorts as well as held corporate positions for more than 25 years. He has opened or managed 23 Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts worldwide.

Business After Hours – Gourmet Gourmet
5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 20

Gourmet Gourmet, 1408 Lewis St., Amelia Island

Connect with up to 150 Chamber members at Business After Hours, Nassau County’s biggest monthly business event, sponsored in February by Gourmet Gourmet.

Business After Hours is a great way to meet other local business people and make contacts that will help you get referrals. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards! There is always great food, drinks and door prizes. Business casual attire.

An Amelia Island icon, Gourmet Gourmet serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a gourmet twist. Enjoy intimate fine dining, lunch and brunch indoors or on the outdoor patio. Ribbon Cutting – Barnabas Center
5 p.m. Monday, February 24

1303 Jasmine St., Suite 101, Fernandina Beach

Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Directors will celebrate Barnabas Center’s move to its new location with a ribbon cutting.

The building is located on Jasmine Street behind Moon River Pizza. The ribbon cutting will be followed by an open house with appetizers and refreshments in a Mardi Gras-inspired theme and tours of the newly renovated building.

All of Barnabas’ services including the food pantry, crisis services, administrative offices, medical and dental services are now housed under one roof right around the corner from the New To You resale store which remains in its present location at 930 S. 14th St.

Health Care Council

Government Affairs Committee

The AIFBY Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting the local business community.

The committee meets at 8:30 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month at the Chamber to discuss issues and to recommend formal policy stances for adoption by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Build a Better Business

Learn the basics of networking on LinkedIn from Thomas Signorello as the AIFBY Chamber Build a Better Business Series kicks off for 2014.

Signorello is a personal development and networking coach and mentor. He has built a successful business through effective networking methods, both online and off. His area of focus in helping people is via social media, specifically showing others how to grow their “Networth,” along with their network and businesses via social media.
