VOTER TURNOUT INFO: The office of our Supervisor of Elections reported only a 12.37% voter turnout in the April 2010 elections.; Jacksonville.com reported a total of 8,282 registered voters in Fernandina Beach’s two precincts, that same April election. This election, 2,110 voters came out to exercise their suffrage. That’s a little over 25% of the 8,282 registered voters in Fernandina Beach! Good job, Fernandina!

    Well it looks like CHANGE is still a majority desire for a minority of the population. This democracy does not work very well when only 1 out of 4 people vote. Charles Corbett is the big winner in this election, as 1 out of every 7 registered voters or 14.85% of the total electorate cast one for him. Congratulations to the winners, but it’s still is a sobering moment for democracy.
