Have you been gathering your Spring Greening recycling items for this great Earth Day initiative in Fernandina Beach?
You have had the last month to gather your Spring Greening recycling items for this great Earth Day initiative in Fernandina Beach. We first told you about this event in March with our Spring Greening in Fernandina article.Earth Day, officially April 22, is celebrated to increase awareness concerning our environmental problems. The first Earth Day was organized in 1970 to promote respect for Mother Earth and bring attention to polluting our soil, air and water. Now the festivities have grown to week long celebrations around the world with street fairs, festivals and recycling events like the one offered on Amelia Island this coming Saturday.
On Saturday, April 24th, Fernandina Beach will permit you to drop off those items that normally cost to dispose of, absolutely free. Make Saturday your own festive Earth Day Holiday by calling your friends, include someone who owns a pick-up truck and help each other clean out the garage. In the evening, have a cookout and enjoy your participation in doing your part to protect our environment.
Visit our previous article for all of the details on what you can and cannot drop off at the event.
