Fernandina Farmers’ Market Has a Theme Song

In addition to nearly 40 vendors, country music recording artist, Smoky Coe is performing. Smoky has written a song about the Fernandina Beach farmers' market.

Fernandina Farmers' Market Has a Theme SongWhile each Saturday at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market has a unique feel with a variety of talented musical guests, charitable “Booth with a Cause”, or a featured Fernandina Brick and Mortar business booth, our market on June 6th is going to be especially exciting!

Some folks come to enjoy the fresh baked pastries and breads, and others come to see the newest crops harvested from our seasonal produce vendors. You may want to meet our newest vendors, Veggie Confetti, who sells micro-greens and pea shoots, or meet our newest soap and bath product vendor. Some people quickly run in and out of the market picking up specific items like a head of hydroponic butter-head lettuce and a pound or two of wild caught shrimp. My neighbor comes to socialize their well behaved, leashed dog and chat with their friends, and my brother comes to the market on a mission to always try something different! No matter why you come to the Market Place, you don’t want to miss the farmers market on June 6, 2015!

In addition to nearly 40 vendors, our entertainment will be provided by country music recording artist, Smoky Coe. Smoky has written a very special song about the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market. Lyrics describe some of the things that make our market special like the Hambone Stumps Band, our local Preacher, and of course, Felix – the Original Peanut Man. His band, featuring Dan Voll on guitar, will be performing and the new song has been worked into their playlist.

Since June 1st marks the beginning of hurricane season, folks from Nassau County Emergency Management Services will be on hand to describe the county’s role in for disaster preparedness. They will have valuable information regarding natural and man-made disasters, and other emergency situations including evacuation route and shelter information.

Rendezvous Festival, a film, music and gaming festival held on Amelia Island June 5th through 13th, will have an informational booth to answer your questions about their film/lunch series, film-talk, gaming expo, and their many other events. Actors, directors, and other industry professionals are expected to pop in at their booth. Two of Rendezvous’ local concerts include alternative rock band, Blistur, on June 10th, and country music artist Shane Wooten will perform Thursday, June 11th.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market features farmers, producers and ranchers. The people you meet in the booths are part of the team who make, grow or create the products you’ll find in our market. Our goal is to provide you with the best food vendors in the regions, as well as a unique experience each time you visit. We believe we may very well be the friendliest farmers market in Florida! We are open every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina.
