First Federal Bank Announces $6 for 6 Debit Card BonusLake City, FL – First Federal Bank of Florida announces a promotion to give new Free Checking customers a debit card bonus of $6 per month for 6 months when they use their debit card five times a month. First Federal’s goal is to reward new customers who are loyal debit card users with a bonus, instead of charging them a monthly fee like many national competitors have recently announced.

“While other national banks are imposing fees on their customers, First Federal is showing that we’re here to help,” says First Federal President and CEO, Keith Leibfried. “Not only do we still offer a Free Checking account, but we are offering a bonus when customers use their debit cards for purchases.”

Community banks like First Federal are being overlooked by national media channels as a worthwhile option for those consumers who are frustrated with fees from the national banks. First Federal is a well-managed, conservatively run community bank whose focus is building relationships with their customers and strives to be a supportive corporate citizen in the markets they serve.

First Federal’s debit card bonus promotion is available for a limited time to customers who open a Free Checking account beginning on October 17, 2011. Five signature-based debit card transactions must be made each month to receive the $6 bonus.

Founded in 1962, First Federal Bank of Florida is chartered as a mutual bank, owned by its depositors. First Federal offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for personal and business customers and is committed to helping local communities flourish.
