The College has partnered with local nonprofit organizations throughout the city to serve their needs on this global day of giving.
Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) students, faculty and staff will celebrate #GivingTuesday on November 27, 2018. The College has partnered with six local nonprofit organizations and will deploy groups of students, faculty and staff throughout the city to serve their needs on this global day of giving.
The nonprofit partners include Beaches Habitat for Humanity, Celestial Farms, Farm Share, Feeding Northeast Florida, Ronald McDonald House and Tiger Academy.
Additionally, the College is accepting donations to benefit FSCJ’s H.O.P.E. Food Pantry, which serves FSCJ students who are experiencing food insecurity. Donation bins for the FSCJ H.O.P.E. Food Pantry will be available on all campuses from November 19-30. Financial contributions to Food Pantry are also welcome and all monetary donations will be matched by an anonymous donor.
The College’s #GivingTuesday efforts will culminate on Thursday, November 29 through the Fasting for Food Donation Drop Off at FSCJ’s South Campus. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., FSCJ faculty and staff will be fasting until the FSCJ H.O.P.E. Food Pantry collects 1,000 pounds of food for our students in need. Nonperishable food donations can be brought to South Campus on November 29 or dropped into the donation bins across our campuses from November 19-30.
