Gilded Dolphin Art Studios and Gallery Grand OpeningThe Gilded Dolphin Art Studios and Gallery will hold a blessing of its art space and artists and a grand opening celebration on Friday, September 18th beginning at 5:30 pm with the blessing by Father Stephen Mazingo of St. Peters Episcopal Church followed by the celebration from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The studios and gallery are located at 5 South Second St. above the Villa Villekulla Toy Store. The celebration will include a meet the artists’ reception. Music will be offered by the group Hickory Winds.

The space has been open to the public since the early spring of this year with positive comments from locals and tourists alike for its bright and airy feel and friendly approachable artists. This opening celebrates all that has been accomplished so far and all that is hoped for the future. The resident artists open their studios off the main gallery so that visitors can see their work in progress. The artists offer various classes. The summer art camps were a big hit with the younger crowd.

This art space is the creative vision of gallery owner and director, Lynne Pilkerton, who recently relocated to Fernandina from Nashville. The official “gilded dolphin” hangs in her studio. The resident artists work in a variety of media which keeps the gallery walls fresh with new work. The spacious windows of the gallery offer views of the downtown and marina which also inspire. The artists live locally and love contributing to the lively and growing arts scene in Fernandina.

Parking for the celebration is on the street or in the public lots. While the gallery is on the second floor, persons needing special access can view art on a closed circuit monitor at the foot of the stairs.
