Harris Teeter Amelia Island Vacation Giveaway

Harris Teeter customers who sign up for the personalized weekly email program by March 31, 2010, will be entered into the “Amelia Island Dream Vacation Sweepstakes.”

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (January 6, 2010) – The Amelia Island Convention & Visitors’ Bureau (CVB) has partnered with Harris Teeter for an online promotion that includes a vacation giveaway to Amelia Island and special discounts to the grocery chain’s customers. Starting Jan. 1, subscribers to Harris Teeter’s e-VIC program (Very Important Customer) are able to enter to win a six-night vacation for a family of four to northeast Florida’s Amelia Island, valued at $5,100. The company’s current e-VIC subscribers and customers who sign up for the personalized weekly email program by March 31, 2010, will be entered into the “Amelia Island Dream Vacation Sweepstakes.”

“This is a great opportunity for us to reach an important group of travelers,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “Our two brands have a similar consumer base and luxury appeal, making this an easy collaboration for us.”

The vacation package will include accommodations for a family of four at the oceanfront Summer Beach Resort on Amelia Island, a round of golf for four at Golf Club of Amelia Island, a trip with Kayak Amelia, tickets for the Cumberland Sound Ferry, a private horse-carriage ride through downtown Fernandina Beach with Amelia Island Carriages, and admission to the Amelia Island Museum of History. The winner will also receive a $50 gift certificate to 29 South, PLAE, Horizon, and O’Kane’s Irish Pub; a $100 American Express gift card for additional meals; and $1,000 for travel expenses.

In March 2010, Amelia Island will announce special discount offers available to customers with a Harris Teeter VIC card. Consumers will be able to get special discounts at various lodging properties, attractions and retail outlets on Amelia Island.
