On Friday, June 20th, Nassau County Clerk of Courts, John Crawford, visited with the Rotary Club of Amelia Island Sunrise to provide the group with an overview of the county’s Fiscal Health Outlook. Crawford outlined the responsibilities of his office. As the Chief Financial Officer of the County, he further outlined his four recommendations for the commissioners and taxpayers:
1) disciplined debt control and no new debt
2) achieve a structurally balanced budget
3) adhere to a revenue-driven budget policy
4) do not spend safety reserves and be willing to spend spending reserves.
The group had many questions for the Clerk and all found his presentation enlightening.
