Heavy Winds Churn up Fernandina Beach Harbor

The high winds experienced in Northeast Florida today churned up the waters at the Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina. With company visiting from out of town, we spent today playing “tourist” and noticed the white caps in the river at the foot of the Fernandina Beach historic district. The winds whistled loudly as they blew across the channel and through the boats.

Weekends are generally a great time to catch the Cumberland Ferry to St. Mary’s, Georgia, go charter fishing or take the scenic route with Amelia River Cruises, but not today. No Sir, you don’t want to get out on the water, but you may want to scurry downtown while there is still daylight and see the water’s fury!
