Hilliard Celebrates Timberfest and VeteransThe town of Hilliard will be celebrating Timberfest with a Veterans Appreciation Ceremony on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Hilliard Airpark located at 37776 Eastwood Road. Admission is free!

Hilliard was founded on the Timber Industry and Timberfest will celebrate its importance to our community. The day will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a ceremony to honor our nation’s veterans. There will be numerous timber themed exhibits in addition, a three hour Husqvarna chainsaw safety class will be offered free to the public and Master Loggers will have the opportunity to compete in a timber competition.

Plenty of food will be on hand, as well as arts and crafts provided by local vendors. Scheduled events include live entertainment, a car show, a horseshoe tournament, children’s amusements, and an awards ceremony as well as an evening fireworks display at 6 p.m. The Timberfest celebration will wrap up with a sock-hop held at the Town Gym located at 27531 West Third Avenue, Hilliard, Florida, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
