International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day

This is a a day to appreciate the true value of rewarding your dog... with a dog biscuit of course.

International Dog Biscuit Appreciation DayCan you believe it? There really is an International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, and it is always held on February 23rd. Because I manage the farmers’ market in historic Fernandina Beach on Saturday mornings, I was absolutely thrilled to learn about this unusual celebration, especially since we have a dog treat vendor at the Market Place on N. 7th Street.

This is a day to celebrate man’s best friend. Unlike a day that was “going to the dogs,” this is a a day to appreciate the true value of rewarding your dog… with a dog biscuit of course.

“Every dog has his day,” so they say, and this is definately their day!

If you are a dog lover, you understand unconditional love. Rewarding your dog’s behavior, or rewarding them for accomplishing a trick with a special canine tidbit is a common way to say, “Thank you” to your dog in a manner they understand.

Take a moment today and celebrate with other dog lovers around the world by treating your four-legged companion to a few dog biscuits!
