John Denver Tribute Concert for Meals on Wheels for Pets

Meals on Wheels for Pets provide pet food for the program that provides homebound seniors with nutritious meals.

Saturday November 23, at 7:00 p.m. there will be an amazing John Denver Tribute Concert, featuring Tom Becker ( of New Christy Minstrels fame), to help raise money for Meals on Wheels for Pets.

Tom’s fondness for the music of John Denver had him touring the world with The New Christy Minstrels, a group John Denver had worked with years earlier, where Tom’s original songs became a regular part of the groups performances.

He worked with Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Gregg Allman, among others. Becker’s song, Sailor, was selected as the official Commemorative Song for the Navy Memorial dedication in Washington DC.

Tom assembled a band and put together an inspiring show for both Denver fans and for those who may not be familiar with his music.

“In this time of enviromental concerns, and Americans’ efforst to simplify their lives, it seems that John Denver’s music and message are even more relevant today, yet you rarely hear his music on the radio,” Tom said.

Universal themes, Tom’s original music, and Denver’s songs of family, love and nature create a show with heart, humor and inspiration.

Back Home Again, the concert, will take place Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Tickets are $25.00 and benefit Meals on Wheels for Pets of Nassau County.

Meals on Wheels for Pets of Nassau County works with the Council on Aging to provide pet food for the companions of Meals on Wheels, the program that provides homebound seniors with nutritious meals.
